Recently the Sun Dragon Clan decided to try and sponsor a trip to the Foothills in hopes to get some
new people to Gaiyl's Book on Pathfinding. The plan was to have it on Sunday morning in hopes we
could get enough people to make the trip. There was some confusion if the trip was going to take
place or not because some key people sent enchanted mail they would not be able to make it. Despite
the confusion a large group showed up and we recruited a few others out of the library to make a
run for the Foothills. We made the trip with out too much trouble. There were a couple scary spots
where fast thinking and great skills kept the whole group from falling. Here is an image of the whole
group as we arrived in the Foothills.
The trip was pretty much a text book run to the Foothills so I will not go into the details but wanted to
post a few images that I thought were interesting. Here is Drizzt maintaining a great wall to protect us
from backspawns.
When we got to the first Advanced Noids cave we were able to clear it pretty easily and make the run
down to Giayl's Book. I have tried to make it too this book 4 previous times but this is the first we were
able to hold the cave so I could train. I am now on my way to train the first chapter of this book. You
can learn 10 ranks from the first chapter. There are two additional chapters in this book so you can
learn an additional 30 ranks of Pathfinding. Of course you have to go back and read each chapter after
you earn the 10 ranks. The SDC is planning another trip to the Foothills on Sunday Oct 24th at 10am
PST. We welcome all who wish to make the journey.
I am still trying to pass 6th Circle test. The last time I took it I managed to kill both Windies off easily
and was very hopefull to test my skills against the Sas. But for some reason I had a very hard time with
the Orga Wraith. At one point it hit me three times in a row at full balance. With such bad luck I did
not last very long against it and soon fell after this image. Now that I am studing advanced
pathfinding, it maybe a while before I make any progress on the test. I will still take it each week to
keep up my skills. In the past when I took long breaks from taking the test each week I found I had
trouble getting back into a groove to kill the things I had no problems with before.
Today the SDC had a great clan hunt in the Foothills. Getting to FH has been easy this week thanks to
PTF for moving the portal to the passes near Ash Valley. The SDC was able to spend the time hunting
the area close to the portal and had a great time. Hunting the Midnight Wendies are great fun and very
dangerous. The skins are a great bonus, I managed to skin a couple today over 50c. I am also very
pleased to post a note about the newest member of the SDC, Sai. Sai join the SDC today after our hunt.
Welcome aboard!
