Tonight was one of the few times I have been able to make it out of the library for any
extended amount of time. I met up with friends from CoNGA and we invited a few
others to try and see if we could find the new area in Melabrion's Mines that everyone
has been talking about. Below are some images from the hunt with some small notes
about each. it was kind of crazy and I did not take very good notes so I don't have
names of all the new creatures maybe next time I can give a little better report.
We cleared the mines as we have done a thousand times before and started
searching for the entrance. One of our advanced PF trainers saw the entrance in the
north east corner of the last room. The first couple of times we ran in we had to retreat
as we did not have a well defined plan for this new area.
But once we figured out how to hold the entrance we started moving forward at a
good pace. Here you can see us fighting a new critter.
Here we had Hidden pull people from down the path and we took them out one by
one. This plan has been used in many other places in the lands and worked really
well here.
We thought we had the path clear and all started moving forward. When we got to a
corner in the path we ran into a ton of critters. There was either a spawn or we got a
little ahead of ourselves.
I tried to move a little south and kill off some of the critters that were beating up on the
healers. This was a bad move as I quickly got surrounded. I soon fell to the many
critters. The group retreated down the hall and healed up. Then they started luring
the remaining critters and cleared the path without further problems.
As we moved south here you can see us fighting what I think this is called a Lime Tok.
Here is one called an Emerald Tok.
Once all the way to the south we found a rock path across a lava pit. Running
through the lava caused a good bit of damage so going off the path is not
recommended unless you got good healers around.
Here is more of the lava path as you head south.
In the north west corner of the lava pit there is a small landing. Beyond the landing is
one last room to explore. We all gathered on the small area and entered the last
room. The room was basically empty, but several people told us that they ran into
quite a few Emerald ones here before. So I guess we got off easy. We took a look
around the room and then we called the new area explored and taken. We plan to
come back and explore a little bit more at different times and see if we can find
anything else.
After the hunt, I took the 6th Circle test again. I did much better this time. My training
with Crunch is paying off quite well. I was able to kill both the Night Wendies pretty
easily but was not able to kill the Wrath. I was not surprised to find that most people
who pass the test are still stronger than me.
I started the test in the lower southeast corner and moved north. The setup was not
best so I pulled them around and moved down to the southwest corner. Here I
manage to perfectly setup the critters so I could fight the one Wendy. As you can see
I was able to kill it off nicely.
I then did a quick lap around the testing grounds and was able to setup the second
Wendy to fight as well. I actually did much better killing the second one than the first.
It went down pretty fast and just in time as you can see the Wrath got around the logs
and tried to sneak up behind me.
This set me up nicely to face off with the Wrath. I was able to hit him about 50% of
the time and it was doing about the same to me. But in the end with the previous
damage I had from the Wendies I just could not bring it down.
I am going to continue studing with Crunch for now. I think with more training I should
be able to get through the Wendies faster and when I get to the Wrath I will have a
better chance since I should not have as much damage. Once I am successful at
killing the Wrath, I do not know how I will stand up against the Sas. My guess is I will
have to switch to Atkus to be able to hit it regularly then maybe back to defence so I
can withstand the damage it inflicts.
