Greetings! It has been a while since I have posted any updates to my scrolls. Sometimes you just can't find anything interesting to write about. Other times you save notes and images of your adventures and never get around to posting them. This update is major because I am going back several weeks and making small entries that I forgot to post or just did not have time too.
First I wanted to report on a resent trip that CoNGA took to Alchemist Folly. Everything went very well and we got all the way to the point where no one has been able to get through. We brought 3 full PathFinders with us in hopes that one may learn a way through this path. We stayed and studied the path for many hours but no one was able to break the secret of how to get through. Eventually we retreated to the library, deflated a little we did not get through but also determined to come back and try again.
It seems there is a new challenge around. Down by the South Forest Outpost there is a new Giant Crawler challenge. As you know I have a great interest in the challenges and have some (outdated) scrolls on them. In this new challenge you have to find and kill 40 Giant Crawler in 90 minutes. This is not an easy task. I have only tried it once but during the time it turns out several others were trying as well. I only managed to kill 8 crawlers and eventually fell to several Large Sand Wurms. I have only heard of one person who has been able to pass the challenge, K'Pyn. With this new challenge around maybe I should update my scrolls, if I can find the time. I will need to complete the challenge myself or seek someone out so I can get an image of the trophey.
Other great news is the South Forest Outpost is now open. You can enter the outpost main room but none of the side rooms are open yet. In the main room you can find Chalta collecting matierals to build and altar annex. This is very interesting, but also you can find this lady....
Falye is warning that even if we do build it, there is no altar to put in there. Sounds like we need to locate Master Hekus who helped us repair the altar the Orge took. He may be able to help us build one for the Outpost.
In town, just south of the more expensive libaries, you can now enter a hut. Inside the hut is two individuals. If you speak to Amela she will talk about how Haricot is looking for ingredients for dishes.
If you approach Vaun sometimes he will send you on a quest to get some of the ingredents that Haricot needs for his dishes. Here you can see he is asking me to find a Yound Rockodile.
So, it seems you must run out and find one of these critters, kill em, and chain them back to Vaun.
So I gave it a try. I even managed to kill two Young Rockodile in hopes that I might provide him more.
It turned out he would only take the one, but he did give me some coins for my troubles, about 5c I think, I forget.
About every 4 years, out town celebrates the "Feast of Tsirrin". This is a time of great fun and challenge as some very strange things seem to go on. The number of undine seem to increase and there are frequent invastion in town of these critters. Also a fallen exile, if not raise soon, will turn into an undine themselves. This becomes very interesting, because the new undine has the same strengths as the exile. Many exile undine can cause a lot of trouble in town.
During this time a traveling costume dealer comes to town and loans out costumes for all. Running around town dressed up as your favorite critter or as Tater can be fun.
Also, durning this time you can collect candy from various huts round town and a few outside of town. If you collect 13 peices of candy you can turn them and get a very special costume and a little bit of experience too.
Being a member of the Sun Dragon Clan, I very much like this time of year where I can wear this outfit. The Sun Dragon appeared to us many years ago in the shape of the fire drake.
In town I found Sor and showed off my costume to him and Super Chicken.
After some talk in town I decided to go hunting. I figured this costume would help me scare the critters and I could kill them easier.
It turns out that they were not fooled and I still have to work just as hard to kill them.
It does make for some very interesting images of a hunt in this costume.
I was afraid that my skinning skills would be hurt by the big bulky costume but it turns out this is not true.
After all the fun was over I desided to try the 5th circle test again. I started out really good and setup the critters just the way I wanted them. I managed to hold my own against the Banshee for quite some time...
But eventually it knocked me down to red and the lava beatle came in from behind and killed me. I think I have enough Atkus now since I was hitting the Banshee 90% of the time with my Great Sword. I just now need get a little more defence so it can't hit me as much. |
